Last Shoot of the Season

The shooting season is at an end, and yesterday, in a foot of snow we went along to Beaters’ Day.  This is the day when the beaters get to shoot; usually our job is to work the spaniels through the woods and flush out the pheasants in the right direction.

Having no desire whatsoever to hold a gun, I spent the day shooting with my camera.  It was a great day but I have to say that black dogs against the snow is quite a challenge!
